Keeping your family and assets safe
The Australian construction industry has faced significant changes to the way buildings are specified with-in cyclone regions. The need for impact resistant within the building envelope has been removed from the standards as of May 2013. Under the latest Australian Standard buildings require to be engineered to cope with cyclonic impact that create openings with in the building envelope. These openings allow for the internal pressure to build up to a point that the roof structure will NOT fail under the cyclonic load, however there will more than likely be major damage to the building with the combination of wind and rain. Your windows and doors are therefore designed to cope with the high wind land water loads. You then have the option to upgrade your products to be FULLY impact resistant. If want to protect your family and possessions we are able to be provided solutions that can provide a range of resistance levels.
Glass Co WA has been at the forefront of design and testing in conjunction with ALSPEC and Glasshape to bring to the market an affordable solution for the cyclonic regions of WA. After extensive testing around window systems to cope with cyclonic conditions a new suite of products has emerged and is now available from Glass Co WA.
