1965

Don & Jenny West start trading as Wests Glass on corner of 4th St and North West Coastal Highway, GERALDTON. Don started as general glass merchant glazing for local builders. Don worked on his own and was able to cut glass in his small factory and then go to site to glaze jobs.

1972

Wests Glass moves into new premise at 109 North West Coastal Highway, GERALDTON. By this stage Wests now has 3 employees and is starting to supply and install some Aluminuim products as they enter the market.

1980

Dons first son Dean becomes an apprentice at Wests Glass. Don has now spread his product range into Flyscreen and Security products to accommodate the ever growing residential market in GERALDTON.

1984

Dons second son Todd now also becomes an apprentice. Wests Glass now has 7 employees including a Manager. The business is continuing to focus on Glazing and Commercial products. At this stage Dons starts to step away from the business in semi retirement.

1990

After both sons leave the business and then return back Don fully retires and hands the business over to Les Mitchell to manage. Wests have now taken on production of Vertical Blinds in GERALDTON to compliment the product range.

1992

Change of hands in Management and now Dean and Todd start to run the business for Don. Todd starts his role working in the administration of the business and Dean becomes the Factory Manager. Staff levels have grown to 8 employee’s.

2000

Business owners acquire adjoining 2 properties and build new Showroom. There is also a Corporate name and logo change to reflect the current business. Wests Glass, Security and Home Improvements becomes the business name of the entity. Staff levels have grown to 18 people at the time of Corporate change. A new fleet of LPG gas work utes are purchased. New showroom is opened and new product range with Design Blinds Australia is launched.

2007

Delegation of Directors travel to CHINA to research potential Glass equipment options for the internal processing of glass in GERALDTON.

2008

Key Employees are offered a share in the Business. Paul Hayward along with Tim & Nancy Kirby  take up shares of the business.

2009

New building in Bradford St GERALDTON developed to accommodate West Glass and new Glass Processing facility Glass Co WA

|

2012

Wests Glass and Glass CO WA amalgamate to become GLASS CO WA.

2013

Glass Co WA win the Midwest Chamber of Commerce and Industry Best Business of the Year and Large Business Award.

Glass Co WA successfully complete five apprentices through their auspice arrangement with Progressive Training to provide the Certificate III Glass and Glazing qualification to apprentices
